The Route of the Wells
Given the strategic importance of the place, and taking into account the possibility of pirate sieges, droughts, and the urgent need to irrigate crops, ensuring the supply of water to the town was always a challenge of prime importance to be met and solved.
Today we can find a considerable number of wells that have survived over time and have become a cultural attraction of the local countryside, and they are worth the visit.
For example, we have the "Pou Ample" well of 1627, the " Plá de dalt " well, and the well in the Plaza Justo Zaragoza of 1792, in addition to the well at the corner of Calle Tremedal and Calle San Luis, of 1884, and the old well in the cloister of the Franciscan friars convent, next to a statue of San Francisco.
